A Report On The Translation Of How Google Works(Foreword & Introduction)

This is a translation project report and the source text is How Google Works, a book about Google and its management system. Based on the translation towards foreword & introduction parts of the book, this report explores and analyzes the difficulties met in the translation towards the selected parts through various aspects,so as to transmit the main content of the ST accurately and reproduce the original style. Explanation along with other translation techniques was applied to handle proper nouns by categorizing them into two, while amplification and linear translation are used respectively to deal with difficulties on rhetorical devices and style reproduction. Experience gained and problems unsolved are concluded in the end to provide some reference for later translators.
