C-E Translation Strategies Of Proper Nouns In Approaching The Field And Society (Part Ⅱ)

This report is based on C-E translation practice of the second part of Approaching the Field and Society,a collection of papers on regional social history.It mainly analyses the translation difficulties of proper nouns,and then attempts to summarize some workable translation strategies.The report includes five chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the translation task;Chapter 2 is the process of this translation task,including preparation before translation task,translation process,and proofreading after translation;Chapter 3 analyses the linguistic features of the source text and presents some translation principles of proper nouns;Chapter 4 is the most important section of this report,focusing on different C-E translation strategies about proper nouns of documents,organizations and institutions,as well as policies and systems;Chapter 5 summarizes the author’s experiences,findings and deficiencies in the whole translation process.
