The Research On Middle School Teachers’ Positive Psychological Quality

The qualitative behavior of middle school teachers on cognition and thought, mood and emotion, motivation and volition, influence not only their sense of teaching efficacy and job burnout, also students’ health and study. There are many researches about positive psychological quality though, little of them aim at middle school teachers. It is important to have a research on middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality.Starting with the definition of positive psychological quality, combining literature review and the open questionnaires, this research builds the theoretical dimension of middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality. It establishes Positive Psychological Quality Scale of Middle School Teachers by project analysis and factor analysis for the preliminary scale then does the reliability and validity test and confirmatory factor analysis. At last it explores the relationship among Middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality, teaching efficacy and job burnout. Here are the conclusions:1) Positive Psychological Quality Scale of Middle School Teachers has three dimensions, including intelligence, positive emotion and positive mentality.2) Positive Psychological Quality Scale of Middle School Teachers has good reliability and validity, and it can measure the middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality.3) The positive psychological quality of middle school teachers is above the average. There is significant difference in gender, grade and subject, while not in age and teaching age.4) There is significant correlation between middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality and teaching efficacy, and significant correlation between middle school teachers’ positive psychological quality and job burnout. A regression equation can be built through these correlations.
