Luthans studied psychological capital(Psy Cap) in 2004. From then on, the researchers realized that Psy Cap has more valuable than human Capital and society Capital. The workers from many different industries have been studied, and have been leaded into education. However, there is no study of Psy Cap for the teacher from rural primary and secondary school, and lack of professional Psy Cap scale. Based on present researches, it has remarkable relationship between Psy Cap and occupational commitment, and there is significant forecasting effect on occupational commitment and Psy Cap. But there is no correlative research on teachers from rural primary and secondary school in this area This study explores the concept, the scale, mainly characters of Psy Cap of teachers from rural primary and secondary school, and the relationship between Psy Cap and occupational commitment. It can enrich and perfect the relevant contents of teachers Psy Cap and promote the performance of teachers from rural primary and secondary schoolOn the basis of document analysis, this study constructs theoretical dimensions about Psy Cap of teachers from rural primary and secondary school. At the same time, combines with the result of content analysis, the survey scale of psychological capital of the rural primary and secondary teachers was designed to analyze the current characteristics of psychological capital of Chinese rural primary and secondary school teachers and reveal relationship between Psy Cap of rural primary and secondary school teachers and occupational commitment. The results showed that(1)The psychological capital of teachers from rural primary and secondary school is a multi-dimensional multi-level structure, which are Optimism, Confidence, Resiliency, Esteem and Tolerance.(2) Draw up the questionnaire of rural primary and secondary school teachers’ psychological capital, which is better reliability and validity and better degree of fitting(3)From the overall, the level of Psy Cap of rural primary and secondary school teachers is higher than average lever. The psychological capital of teachers from rural primary and secondary school with different gender is not different, only exists difference on Confidence; with different age and teaching length are absolutely different; with different educational background are absolutely different; with different phase of teaching is absolutely different.(4) From the overall, the level of occupational commitment of rural primary and secondary school teachers is higher than average lever, but continuance commitment is lower.(5)There are remarkable correlation between emotional commitment, normativecommitment of teachers from rural primary and secondary school and every factor ofpsychological capital. Every factor of psychological capital has remarkable positivecorrelation with emotional commitment and normative commitment. Continuancecommitment has remarkable negative correlation with Esteem and Tolerance, which isnot remarkable correlation with Optimism, Confidence and Resiliency.(6) The psychological capital of teachers from rural primary and secondary school hassignificant positive predictability on occupational commitment, continuance commitmentand normative commitment.(7)The influencing factors of psychological capital of teachers from rural primaryand secondary school include existing teaching experience, personal mentality, the wayand attitude to treat, resiliency, values, external support and recognition.
