A Study On The Lexical Of Youxianku

Tang Legend is the name of short ancient stories populated in Tang Dynasty whose content mainly about anecdotal. On behalf of Pei Xing’s<Legend>, those stories go down to the posterity with the name Tang Legend. As the earlier work among Tang Legend,<Youxianku> tells us the journey in a fairy’s cavern by the author Zhang Zhuo. There’re several features of the language of the article. First of all, it contains plenty of dialogues and environmental descriptions which read lively and vividly. Among them are abundant colloquial words, so it displays an oral tone. For example, there’re many appellation words, auxiliary words and disyllables, especially the disyllable continuous words. Secondly, the Parallel prose of the article requires the use of synonym chains and synonymous to lift. So the author used many synonyms. By studying these colloquial words and synonyms, we can get an idea of the state of colloquial language and synonyms in Tang Dynasty, which will benefit the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary.Focus on the study of <Youxianku>, this thesis attempts to make study about the colloquial words, synonyms and difficult words in it. In the study, we will use the method of Synchronic and diachronic and the method of Chinese exegetics guided by the lexical semantics. Firstly, we choose some typical colloquial words to make a detailed study about their development in the history of Chinese. Secondly, we make study on the synonyms about the development and analysis. Thirdly, we try to explain some difficult words in the article.The state of the use of vocabulary in<Youxianku> reflect the one in Tang Dynasty, such as the use of affix "子", it can be used to make up the new words "手 子", "眼子" and "蜂子". Secondly, there’re a lot of synonyms among them are used to make up compound words by using together. So the amount of disyllable words keeps increased in Chinese language especially in the oral language in Tang Dynasty. Even though<Youxianku> is famous of its oral tone, but there still some difficult words in it. So we choose several of them to explain, but for those too hard to solve, we expect the further study in the future.
