The Research On Function Words Of Youxianku

Youxianku is the symbolic work of the maturity of the development of tale of themarvelous of Tang Dynasty, which possesses the definite author and the time of creation. It’smade of both regular and irregular sentences, full of dialogues, poetic chants. It also has manycolloquial woods and displays an oral tone. Focus on the research of Youxianku’s functionwords, this thesis attempts to show the lexical features and the importance during ModernChinese language period through deep study of the function words in this book.The thesis, following the traditional principle of collecting words, covers fivecategories of function words, namely adverb,preposition,conjunction,auxiliary.Detailedanalyses are also employed to explain the word class, meaning, function and illustration. Thecontext is also taken into consideration for a better understanding on the entry.The thesis is divided into six chapters, with each chapter for one category.First,we havea short introduction of basic overview, current research topics and reason, research contentand research methods of Youxianku.In chapter two,three,four,and five,we respectivelyintroduces the adverb,preposition,conjunction,and auxiliary.Several sections are also classfiedfor the purpose of accounting the frequency, describing the usage of various function words.A summary is presented at the end of each chapter to reveal the general picture of ModernChinese language period function words.
