This paper is a translation practice report. The paper studies the E-C translation strategy of The Definitive Guide to HR Communication co-authored by American writers Alison Davis and Jane Shannon. This translation practice includes the Introduction part, Book Review, Chapter One and Chapter Two with almost twenty thousand Chinese characters. On this basis, this paper discusses the application of explicitation strategy in E-C translation under the perspective of communicative translation. The first part summarizes the content of the project and its significance. The second part analyzes the original text in terms of two authors, content and language features. The third part is the main part of the article. After expounding communicative translation theory and expicitation concept respectively, the author then analyzes the explicitation strategies in specific cases from the perspective of communicative translation, including adding notes and annotation, the embodiment of the sentence, reinventing the sentence structures, contextual amplification, and paraphrasing. The fourth part discusses the existing problems and deficiencies of this paper. The final part concludes the research paper. As the first version of the original text, the author hopes it will provide the reference of related human resources communication knowledge to readers. Simultaneously, through this article, more people will know better that explicitation strategy is not limited by free translation or literal translation method under the guidance of communicative translation theory. By parsing and expressing implicit information of the original text, explicitation strategy can enhance the logic and readability of the translation for the particular status of the reader, which ensures that the readers receive accurate information. At last, the author hopes this study can also have implications of such type of translation practice.
