In recent years, foreign literature translations have been pouring into the Chinese market. They are popular with the general readers. However, the translations of those foreign works are not all good. Plus, children’s literature is marginalized. Based on them, the translation and report are conducted. The author justifies the translation strategies of the children’s works.Through representative cases, the report analyzes how to use the strategies and the use of model words, retroflexion, reduplication words, onomatopoeia, adjectival postposition and simplification of compound sentences are all proved effective in translating children’s book under the guidance of Halliday’s language acquisition. It also points out the difficulties the translator meets in the task.As the report reveals, a translator should have a comprehensive understanding of translation theory concerned, the original text and the target language readers.
