The Translation Report Of An Iron Rose

This paper is a report for translation practice based on the crime fiction written by Australian writer Peter Temple, who is pretty famous in European and American crime fiction circles.This paper aims to, under the guidance of imagology, analyze and summarize the impact or main images on the practice of translation, and translator’s corresponding translation strategies. The translation studies under the perspective of imagology shows that in the process of translation, the construction of main images can be a guide to the translation practice. The translator, who cares both two cultural backgrounds and considers various factors, plays a role of choosing reasonable translation strategies, such as deletions and restructuring, semantic extension and so on. And through this translation practice, I believe that in the translation process, the imagology is always closely linked with the translation. Translation studies in imagology perspective are still developing. Under the guidance of this concept, the author tries to work out the most consistent work to answer the demands of the contemporary readers, and hopes to learn and accumulate experience from the process, improves abilities while also gives readers a feel of joy.
