In traditional Chinese teaching, the knowledge of characters origin and evolution, Chinese traditional semantics,philology are essential.These knowledge can make the studying more vivid and fascinating, and students may pay more attention and interest in learning Chinese.So, can this method be applied into the course of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language? This thesis analyzing the motivation and the enjoyment of Chinese characters through the introduction and comparison of mainstream teaching methods of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, including a detailed discussion on the specific using of this method,to investigate its operability. The last part of this thesis lays on the reflection and improvement of this method.Generally speaking,the purpose of this thesis is:using the motivation of the Chinese characters as a entry point to search a new method to solve the problem of teaching Chinese characters,and finally improve the efficiency of the course :Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.The chapter one briefly introduce the current situation of characters researches in the course Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, it also discuss the scientificity and practicalness of this thesis; The chapter two analyze the features of Chinese characters, using the culture as a entry point to probe how to increase the interesting of this lesson, this chapter also introduce the perceive and acquisition rules of learning Chinese characters;the chapter three of this thesis mainly analyze the current situation of characters teaching in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, it also introduce several mainstream teaching methodology mow, after analyze their advantages and dis advantages, the chapter state the necessity of motivation teaching methodology; the last part explain the specific operation method of motivation teaching method, it also design a teaching plan as an example, giving several suggestions to the improvement of this method.The characters teaching is the difficulty in the course Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,but it’s also a key point,By comparison and analysis I think: the motivation teaching method is an effective teaching method,especially for the primary stage learners,this method can increase the interesting of learning,it can also bring convenience to the learners to learning and systemizing Chinese characters consciously.
