This paper explores the connotation of ”Shou” Culture in Chinese traditional culture as well as its innovative design of graphic. Through the summary of meaning and development of ”Shou” Culture and the birthday custom in the folk,the dissertation discovers the graphical features and connotation of Chinese traditional “Shou“Culture, and sums up the moral of “Shou”Culture which can be inherited; comparatively analyses the form and characteristics of traditional “Shou” graphics and modern graphics;Based on the current background of the times, seeks out the objective value of modern“Shou” graphics, and improves status of “Shou” graphic in Chinese traditional culture and its commercial value as well. In addition, the development of modern society makes the emphasis transition from the feudal ethics thought to aesthetic image of graphics, in which greatly increases the interesting and functionality of the modern “Shou” graphics. In that regard, the study explores the graphics and modern values of traditional “Shou” culture to provide a reference for the future design and creation.In order to furtherly research into that traditional graphics laid the foundation of Chinese long-lived culture,the traditional culture connotation of these graphics are basically analyzed.Then the visual image of traditional “shou” figures is mainly explored including their composition form and color with collecting and analyzing traditional subjects about it.After the comparison between the modern graphics and traditional ones about “shou” culture mainly on craft,style and color,it is concluded that the difficulties in modern designing and solutions are proposed.And then it is discussed that the application of modern graphics innovation with the examples of the works of modern designers. Finally “shou” graphics are re-designed based on theoretical analysis in the first five chapters and the virtues of Chinese nation are carried forward better.
