Children level reading is a method of providing the reading materials for children of different ages and teaching them how to read. Children level reading is a worldwide tendency of reading, which classifies the reading materials for providing the more scientific reading advice and making the reading more efficient, based on sufficient understanding of children’s development of language and cognitive ability in different stages. The research of children level reading has hundred years of history abroad. The abroad researches make the children level reading more elaborate by coming up with some standards and systems of grading. For example, American level reading makes the length of text, the quantity of dittograph, the level of complexity and similarity of concepts to be the references of the children level reading. Chinese children level reading develops from recent years, and the Southern level reading research center and Jie Li level reading research center put forward the standards and reference books lists respectively. But depending on current domestic research, Chinese children level reading research focuses on the extracurricular reading and neglects the curricular reading, which lacks of the continuity from the class to out of the class. And most researches are not done from the linguistics but publishing.This paper has constructed three corpusses, the corpus of People of Chinese textbooks for primary school, the corpus of classic children literature works and the corpus of Jie Li children level reading. The paper compares the same corpus in different levels and the same levels in the different corpusses. At last, there are the results of this paper. Firstly, the corpus of People of Chinese textbooks for primary school is foundational and pure. Secondly, the corpus of classic children literature works and the corpus of Jie Li children level reading have their traits and are the extend of the the corpus of People of Chinese textbooks for primary school. Thirdly, children level reading should depend on the linguistics and the choices of the readers. From the linguistics, the length of sentence, the choices of the major lexical category, the quantity of the words and the usage of some special sentence patterns influence the children level reading. At the last, this paper puts forward the primary vocabulary of children level reading.
