The documentary is a unique art form, which restore the real world and record a country’s political, economic, social, cultural and other aspects of scenes. As a world power, China has always been concerned by the western countries, especially in recent years. While China has made considerable progress in economic development, with a steadily improved international status, more and more countries have been attracted impressively by the rising oriental country. In history, from Marco Polo to Antonio, Evans, various forms of literature, even some Japanese literary works have tried to show the beautiful and complex Eastern country-China to all people around the world.By some accounts, NHK has shot more than 5000 programs about China which has nearly 2000 (set) documentary work. This article is a study of "NHK Chinese documentary", which has explored the NHK documentary concerning about China mirror. Firstly, we determine a standard definition of "NHK Chinese documentary" which related to China theme documentary and shot since NHK entered China. In 1972, NHK entered China and experienced the "friendly", "friction" and "calm" stage Sino-Japanese relations. Through the sheer number and time of the shooting, it touches off the central issue:Why did NHK pay so much attention to China? The author try to do the following questions to answer, whether NHK pays great attention to China as I feel this, whether there exists a geopolitical reasons to explain such attention? So much attention and presents what kind of China? So present and makes what kind of reflection? For each sub problem solution is the process of gradual analysis on the core problems.This paper will be divided into four chapters, the first chapter is mainly discussed the question, whether NHK focuses too much on China, through data presentation. The author has summarized all the NHK shot Chinese documentaries since 1972. In order to intuitively present the attentions NHK paid on China, the regularity of shooting numbers were performed by chart. The second chapter is mainly to do the NHK concerning over China’s theme documentary context, namely, NHK documentaries into China all the way how to come over here. In this chapter, the three different segments in the history were utilized as node to comb the three phase of NHK Chinese documentaries and try to show the different historical stages in carding presenting what kind of documentary works. Combined with the policy relationship between China and Japan in different period, it makes a background introduction and analysis of why works in different times have different priorities. As the focus of this paper t he third chapter try to show the characteristics of these works based on summarizing NHK Chinese documentary, namely, the focus of China’s social reality subject. While the relation between China and Japan are close, Japan has been focusing on China in its own way, such as concerning the history of China, and also focusing on modern China. In narrative level NHK Chinese documentary present the characteristics of the "macroscopic materials, microscopic narrative", combines around its film analysis of induction. The fourth chapter carries on the above content analysis, this chapter try to do deep reflection on the image of China, which is shown in NHK Chinese documentary,and return to the core issue of this article "Why is NHK so much attention to China?", The author puts forward a kind of explanation that the Angle of the geopolitical relations between JAPAN and CHINA to explain why NHK is so concerned about China; For "macroscopic materials, microscopic narrative" puts forward a kind of reflection:Subject Constructed in China’s image whether it should be conscious to reverse, in other words, from "the other construction" to "self-construction". This chapter puts forward a kind of reflection for the sake of the construction of China’s image which is more comprehensive and real.
