Preliminary Study Of Contemporary Chinese Film Idea (1980s-present)

The political, economic, cultural and so on have changed in contemporary China. Especially after the reform and opening up, changes of China’s political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological situation have brought opportunities to Chinese cinema. In the new situation, the film idea have changed, the film is recognized as an art again, especially as a commodity, a cultural practice Explore the reasons that Chinese cinema idea changed, as well as the specific content of the concept of Chinese movie idea, and specific features and changes in this idea of filmmaking practice. It is benefit for Chinese film.In this thesis, I will study the reason of Chinese contemporary movie idea from three main points of political economy, ideology and culture and science and technology. Analysis of three mainstream paradigm of contemporary Chinese film idea: the movie is a kind of art; commodity; cultural practice. Because of the influence on these ideas,Chinese film practice as industrialization、art way、spiritual culture. At last, I will comment the Chinese movie idea and creation practice. In order to provide reference for Chinese film, to improve the China film culture strength.The classical film theory before the twentieth Century 60’s is mainly on the study of filmontology, on the relation between film and reality, and the author of the film world, Such as montage theory, type of film theory, author theory, long lens theory etc.. After 60 years, Film studies began to explore the relationship between film and audience, by Using structuralism, feminism, psychoanalysis, the ideology criticism etc. and Semiotics of cinema, the film narratology, psychoanalysis theory. Therefore, the thesis lies in making the film as a social and cultural phenomenon. In the view of Sociology of art, the contemporary Chinese film exposure to the social culture system, I will study the concept and practice of contemporary Chinese movies. In addition, this thesis also integrated to use film aesthetics, movie typology and Film Studies and other methods.
