Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has developed rapidly, national life has been significantly improved, and it has also greatly released the people's desire for consumption.Consumption has become an effective tool to stimulate economic growth. With the steady improvement of the income level of residents and the continuous enrichment and improvement of material life, people began to pursue spiritual and cultural life more and more, and cultural consumption has gradually become a new hot spot of consumption.Although cultural consumption started late in China,it has maintained a strong development momentum, the overall level of cultural consumption has been rising, and the cultural consumption structure has been continuously optimized and upgraded. It has become a new bright spot for expanding domestic demand and promoting steady economic growth. And transforming the new important carrier of economic development. The growth of cultural consumption will effectively promote the cultural industry to become a pillar industry of the national economy, and inject a strong impetus for China's medium and long-term expansion of domestic consumption to stimulate economic growth. However, compared with developed countries,China's cultural consumption is still at a low level, and there is still a prominent regional development imbalance in the field of cultural consumption.Because the cultural industry has a strong”soft power"characteristics, this makes the research, especially the empirical research, quite difficult, mainly in two aspects:(1)how to define the cultural industry and its boundaries are quite controversial,Countries around the world and different international organizations have given different interpretations, either broad or narrow;(2)the output of cultural industries is difficult to measure accurately, and statistical data is difficult to obtain. To this end, this paper selects a segment of the industry film industry as the object of research. On the one hand, the film industry belongs to the cultural industry and has the general characteristics of the cultural industry. There is no dispute about this;on the other hand, the boundaries of the film industry are relatively clear, relevant data are relatively easy to obtain, and the analysis conclusions for the film industry will help Understanding and grasping the overall cultural and creative industries.Based on this, this paper selects relevant indicators according to the theoretical framework of"demand-supply-macro-consumption environment(DSE paradigm)",using 31 provinces and cities as research samples, and using panel data regression model to influence the factors affecting film consumption in 2012-2016.Regional heterogeneity was empirically analyzed.Empirical studies show that income is an important factor affecting cultural consumption and has a significant role in promoting the eastern region. However,in the central and western regions, there is no significant correlation between income and cultural consumption. This may be due to the income of residents in the central and western regions.Lower, has not reached the"threshold"level of cultural consumption. The price and quantity of cultural products in different regions have different influence factors and significance on cultural consumption. The income of residents in the central and western regions is lower and more sensitive to price, while the income in the eastern region is higher, which is less sensitive to price;cultural products The quantity has a significant role in promoting cultural consumption in the central and western regions, and has no significant effect on cultural consumption in the eastern region.Urbanization rate and Internet penetration rate have obvious positive effects on cultural consumption, and the influence of urbanization rate and Internet penetration rate on cultural consumption in central and western regions is greater than that to cultural consumption in eastern regions.
