The Relationship Between Literature & Film How To Change Since New Period In The Fifth Generation Of Director Of Chinese Film, For Example

This paper focuses on the fifth generation of director’s film adaptation, with the interdisciplinary study of literature and film in parallel as the theoretical starting point, to study the the relationship between film and literature from new period of our country, which is the basis for how literature gets on well with film. New period was almost the same time when the fifth director started to make movies. In the past 30 years from new period to the 21 st century, the fifth generation of directors experienced 1980s’ flourish literary,1990s’ marketization and globalization in the new century.Although most of the fifth generation’s films were adapted from literary works, the concept of adaptation and methods of adaptation have been changing. The relationship between literature and film has experienced four different stages: film depending on literature, literary helped film to go to the world stage, film and literature gradually separated away,at last the movie becomes the marketing tool of film. Facing the marginalization of literature and artistic-lack of film,how to correctly understand the relationship between the two, is particularly important. Film should not be attached to literature, literature is not film’s slave,, only mutually beget each other, they can maintain the independence of each other, and try to get the "win-win".
