This is a translation project report, which extracts from the report named Levers for Change: Philanthropy in Select South East Asian Countries. It is edited by Crystal Hayling along with some famous social people of Southeast Asian funded by the International Development Research Center. This report is selected from the chapter Country Profile 3 Singapore, mainly introducing the national situation and philanthropy career. It mainly tells us the types of donor agencies, incentives of foundations, career supported by donor agencies, fundraising methods, sustainable donations and funds-donating model. Through analysis, we can better know reasons why Singapore’s philanthropy operates well, and on this basis, develop China’s philanthropy suitable for China’s national conditions to benefit more people. This translation report is based on Newmark’s communicative translation, discussing translation methods of long sentences in the informative text, as well as the application of translation approaches like parts of speech conversion, amplification and so on in the text. Informative text translation should view the language cognitive system of the target readers as a standard, accurately conveying the original message by comprehensive using various translation skills.
