In the process of acquiring Chinese as a second language, the acquisition of vocabulary affects Chinese language learners’ learning to a great extent, vocabulary teaching is also the key of the teaching link in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The textbook, the major relying and the basis of teachers and Chinese language learners in teaching stages, is an essential tie of teachers and learners. Therefore, the setting of vocabulary in textbooks has also became the vital component in both of textbooks and process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper selects the textbooks Chinese Master published by press Dalagweon, which is written by native South Korean teachers, the textbooks centrally reflect the features that the South Korean textbooks attach great importance to culture, practical content and novel words selection, and this set of textbooks is popular around the Chinese leaners in South Korea. This paper studies on some aspects such as total amount of vocabulary, distribution of vocabulary, raising situation, recurrence rate and new words annotation in textbooks, and we do some survey on teachers and learners who have used this set of textbooks in the form of questionnaire. We discuss the issues of vocabulary compilation in Chinese Master with statistical analysis method, comparison method and the investigation method of the questionnaire. In the study we find some problems of vocabulary compilation, including too little vocabulary, too low recurrence rate, too much super class vocabulary and wrong words annotation in Chinese Master, we try to explore the causes of these problems at the same time. According to the above results of study and the actual situation of questionnaire, we make suggestions about vocabulary compilation for native South Korean Chinese language textbooks.
