The textbooks is the foundation of teaching,just like the script for drama.The teaching of vocabulary plays an crucial role in TCFL.so,the vocabulary quality of the Foreign Student-oriented Chinese Textbooks is critical.the first-class teaching material should take into consideration four factors: vocabulary selection and arrangement,word recurrence rate,word explanation,vocabulary practice.This paper choose New Practical Chinese Reader as the main study objections,Which writeen by Mr Liu Xun.this paper counts and analyse all vocabulary collected into this Foreign Student-oriented Chinese textbook,discussed the advantages and disadvantages about vocabulary arrangement of this material.the author try to give some valuable suggestions.this article is composed of four parts:Firstly,analyse vocabulary quantity and compilation,based on TCFL program.Secondly,on the basis of relevant statistical data and dependent theories,the paper presents a comprehensive analysis of word recurrence rate in this textbook,and attempt to give some useful suggestions.Thirdly,go into the vocabulary explanation through three parts:label of word class, translation of word,note of morpheme,the author try to put forward the principle of vocabulary explanation .Fourthly,take an observation of vocabulary practice,and give an analysis about the main practice items.
