Kobah script is a kind of syllabic writing of Naxi. In this oldest and mysterious nation, the character system becomes a kind of medium to spread and continue the national culture. Since ancient times, Naxi people used the original dongba script to record Confucian classics. It’s called ideograph. However, In the endless development of characters, Kobah script which is a kind of Phonetic syllable gradually arises in the same nation. It’s worth thinking and concerning. Variant character study of Kobah provides the material of how we further study the character writing from ideogram to syllable. At the same time, it can dynamically display the change of internal writing system. The development of the variant character is a microcosm of the writing system.Variants character of Kobah in this thesis focuses on the eight classics. First, Divination and the Origin of the Story is collected by Li Lincan. Second, Classic on Augury is made by He Jiren. Third, Da Jifeng Yingqing Luoshen is collected by Fu Maoji. Fourth, this article selects five Kobah classics of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts (hereinafter referred to as the Quanji). Such as Da Jifeng Chaodu Dongzu De Diao Sigui Juanshou,Chaodu Sizhe Lushen Qicheng,Xiang Shen Qiu Weili,Da Jifeng Yingqing Jingrushen Juanshou,Da Jifeng Yingqing Mobi Jingrushen Juanzhong,Da Jifeng Yingqing Lushen.In addition to,there are some sporadic Kobah characters in Dongba writing books from Quanji.They appear in the cover,main body and Ba Yu.Besides Introduction, it’s divided into four chapters as follow. First of all, through the statistical method, makes a quantitative statistics of Kobah script variant. Afterwards, we make use of database technology to save and search for establishing a database. On this ground, Variant characters of Kobah are classified and analyzed. We investigate the types, characteristics and differences of variant characters of Kobah from different regions. After that, we analyze the causes for emergence.Introduction:In this part, variant characters of Kobah made a relatively comprehensive overview on relevant research. Although some scholars have concerned about this phenomenon, it didn’t come to the detailed explanation. We use the scientific statistical method to define and analyze about variant characters of Kobah. In order to further study about the rules of the development of the writing system, it provides the basic data.Chapter one:the summarize of variant characters of Kobah. First, we discuss the nature of the Kobah. In the process of material collection, the article makes preliminary judgement to the Kobah. Then, according to the actual situation, the thesis made a reasonable definition for it. Variant characters of Kobah can be divided into the differential mode characters and isomeric characters. Last, it describes the styles of variant characters of Kobah table.Chapter two and three:There is a study of variant characters of Kobah feature in the three areas, such as Li jiang, Lu dian, Baoshan, Ming yin, Da dong. First, we summary the situation of variant characters of Kobah feature in this three places. Then, respectively analyzed on the usage of variant characters of Kobah for representative Dongba. It is the case study. According to the usage of books, form and arrangement of lines in calligraphy of writing, commonly used of variant characters of Kobah and symbol posture,we compare and analyze on the using characteristics of variant characters of Kobah from three places.Chapter four:Analysis of causes, characteristics and laws. According to the analysis, the causes of the formation is divided into two parts of internal cause and external cause. Internal cause refers to the own development process of the writing. External cause, such as the political and economy of the society, regional natural differences, writing tools and materials, as well as culture and aesthetic perspective of the writer, makes variant characters of Kobah. Finally, summarized the rule and the influence of variant characters of Kobah.On the whole, the article comprehensively collects variant characters of Kobah. According to different regions, we classify and summarize the characteristics of it. Objectively explained the law of development variant characters of Kobah. At the same time, in order to further study the development, the article provides the basis material.
