Researches On Zhu Dezhi’s ZhuangZi TongYi

The famous ancient historian SiMa’Qian praised Zhuang-zi that it is rich in language varity, and good at rhetoric, such as metaphor and analogy. Later, the study on the interpretation of Zhuang-zi continues in the every period of China. The book Zhuang Zi TongYi wrote by Zhu Dezhi is an excellent work in the Jiajing period of the Ming dynasty, which embodies characteristics of studying Zhuang Zi in the Ming dynasty, so it plays a valuable role of studying Zhuang Zi. This dissertation attempts to probe into Zhuang Zi TongYi in order to get a systematic and whole understandingIn the first part of the thesis,it is the strict resoning and research which are about Zhu Dezhi’s lifetime,family backgroud and his friend according to some relative datas,so we can know this book and the writer more clearly. Secondly, studying Zhuang Zi in Ming dynasty has the characteristics that using Confucianism and Idealist Philosophy to analyze Zhuang Zi.This book was written at that time,so it aslo has this characteristics.Zhu Dezhi not only pay attention to politics of current events,but also work hard in studying and research, He knew very well on classics,history and Buddhism-Taoism.In Zhuang Zi TongYi,Zhu Dezhi often quoted the thoughts of Confucianism and Buddhism to interpreted Zhuang Zi in order to seek the similarities and differences between them. This makes Zhuang Zi TongYi was substantial and embracive,the contents of it embraced the Confucianism. In this way,the words was truly achieve the purpose of "extensive and order". In addition, Zhu Dezhi analysis Zhuang Zi by the way of literature and lingnistics.On the one hand, he did deep analysis on the text of Zhuang Zi, discussing the overall planning, phrasing and context of the writings one by one; On the other hand, he adopted the " explain Zhuang Zi by context" method in the process of interpreted the philosophical connotations, namely through reviewing the writings’s context to explored subtle philosophy that implied in the words, so as to realized the good combination of literature and argumentation.Although there was no one made a special discussion and research to Zhuang Zi TongYi, but we can’t ignore the important values of the works. On the basis of text study and lots of concerned datas, the author do a deep reseach on Zhuang Zi TongYi,and try to show The value of this book.
