Subject ellipsis is very common both in Chinese and Japanese, which always makes us confused during translating. What’s more, it becomes more complicated when subject’s ellipsis and change happen at the same time. It was called "the ellipsis and change on subject" in Chinese, as this linguistic phenomenon is very common in Chinese, which means the subject is not only left out, but also changed so that it’s different from the subject of the preceding sentence. However, it doesn’t have a special name in Japanese, though it’s also very common in Japanese. Therefore, we also call it as "the ellipsis and change on subject" for Japanese. This kind of linguistic phenomenon is so common that we always make mistakes in translation. Therefore, we need to research this kind of sentence to make clear its’characteristic on translation, and to clarify the function of "the ellipsis and change on subject" on the translation. The first chapter of this report making an introduction of research background, summarizing the previous research of "the ellipsis and change on subject" in Chinese and Japanese, pointing out the insufficiency in previous research on this kind of subject, and makes a more specific definition on it. The second chapter discusses the effects on the Chinese to Japanese and Japanese to Chinese translation from the topic chains and Chinese paratactic sentences. The third chapter discusses the relation between "the ellipsis and change on subject" and the point of view. And analyse the influence on the Chinese to Japanese and Japanese to Chinese translation from the point of view.In a word, all the topic chain, Chinese paratactic sentences and the point of view can decide whether "the ellipsis and change on subject" can be possible or not. What’s more, whether "the ellipsis and change on subject" can be translated right or not is decided by the topic chain, and whether it can be translated good or not is decided by the Chinese paratactic sentences and the point of view.
