In psychology and cognitive science, a Schema describes how this process allows the person to make the internal adjustments which will serve as feedback for the interpretation of future information. The Schema Theory has been practiced in interpretation as an interdisciplinary approach to the interpretation study. Simultaneous interpreting is arguably the most demanding of the three modes of interpreting. This is due in part to the fact that in SI the interpreter does not control the flow of communication, but must adapt to the pace of each speaker, without interrupting the proceedings. The interpreter must be thoughtfully following the ideas in the speech, the "thread" of the conversation, as it is, and must be prepared to extrapolate meaning from context. To anticipate the context requires three categories of Schema Theory which are Language Schema, Context Schema and Structure Schema. This report aims to analyze and study the correlation between anticipation in simultaneous interpreting based on Schema Theory and simultaneous interpreting quality. A correlational research was implemented by setting control and experimental groups in order to monitor variables. The findings of this experiment demonstrate a positive correlation which exists in anticipation in simultaneous interpreting based on Schema Theory and simultaneous interpreting quality. Yet correlation within each parameter of the quality has found disparity as correlation between anticipation under Schema Theory and Sense Consistency with Original Message and Completeness of Interpretation can be described in some certain degree; non-correlation with Fluency of Delivery; high correlation with Use of Correct Terminology. These findings have significant implications for the quality of simultaneous interpreting. It appears that Schema Theory could be helpful for the interpreters.
