Simultaneous interpretation requires the interpreter to output the target language while listening to the source language, which requires the interpreter to complete a series of interpretation links such as listening comprehension, memory, coordination, and output in a very short time.In order to achieve such a difficult goal, interpreters need to use a variety of methods in a flexible manner for simultaneous interpretation.Anticipation is recognized as an effective method of simultaneous interpretation. As time goes, slideshows are widely used as a convenient and efficient expression tool. With the use of slides for presentations becoming the norm,it is inevitable that interpreters also make extensive use of slides in their work. Therefore,"how to use slides to make anticipation in simultaneous interpretation" has become a topic of practicality. This paper firstly refers to the previous research results, and explains the research objects of this paper, namely "simultaneous interpretation with slides" and "anticipation",and determines their definitions.Simultaneous interpretation with slides can be regarded as a special form of simultaneous interpretation with manuscripts. This paper discusses the auxiliary role of slides in non-linguistic prediction in the form of freewheeling anticipation in simultaneous interpretation. In the theoretical research part, combined with Gile’s Effort Model, this paper discusses the rational allocation method of the energy of "reading slides" and "listening to understand the source language" in simultaneous interpreting with slides, and believes that anticipation helps Establish a balance between the two and improve the efficiency of energy distribution. Also, combined with schema theory,it is believed that the construction of schema is beneficial to the anticipation of simultaneous interpretation with slides. This paper then analyzes the prediction methods of simultaneous interpretation with slides focusing on "sight translation of slides" and "listening to the source language" by taking the case study of the performance briefing in Mos Burger as an example. This paper also use this example as a material to further summarize the application strategy of simultaneous interpretation with slides.According to the Gile’s Model, interpreters can use the slides as an opportunity to start predictions, and choose to focus on reading the slides or listening to the source language, and at the same time pay attention to the combination of listening and reading in the process to confirm whether the predictions are correct.According to the viewpoint that schemas are helpful for prediction,by drawing mind map and keyword associations, schemas are strengthened, and they can also help in interpretation prediction. This paper hopes to help interpreters improve their interpreting ability and interpreting effect by discussing the auxiliary role and application strategies of slides for simultaneous interpreting prediction,so as to better serve the market and contribute to the interpreting community.
