The Observation Of Supplementary Textual Connective In Modern Chinese

This dissertation aims at a group of textual connective in modern Chinese.In order to make a systemaic analysis and observation of the group of supplementary textual connective,it probes into semantic and pragmatics functions of supplementary textual connective,and analyse the similarities and differences between them.The group members are:‘tongshi’(同时),‘ciwai’(此外),‘lingwai’(另外)‘,haiyou’(还有)and‘zaishuo’(再说).There are five chapters in this thesis.Chapter one is the preface, introduce the subject matters, relative studies,significance of studies, methods, aims and origin of discourse materials.Chapter two is the observation of distribution of supplementary textual connective. Explaining the formal characteristic through analysing three aspects.Chapter three is the observation of semantic feature. We discuss the semantic feature and relation of the five words through explanations in dictionaries,semantic features and differences, semantic relation and scope meaning.Chapter four is the contextual function and its reasons.Through analysing corpus,exploring the emphasis function, discourse marking function,supplementary marking function and the function of textual cohesion.And discussing the reasons of contextual function in several aspects.Chapter five is the conclusion. It is a summary of this thesis and shows the further problems to study in the future.
