The author want to reveal the evolution of the belief in Jiang Ziwen in six dynasties and Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties period by official histories, mystery novels, poetry anthologies, as well as interpretation of local history in Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties period.The author read and analyzed of the Wei-Jin period mystery novels and discovered that there were a lot of very characteristic of gods written in mystery novels. These spirits have a common feature that is evil. The author refered to these deities as "Lishenâ€. With the characteristics of these " Lishen " accounted for a large proportion of the Wei-Jin period mystery novels, I think Wei-Jin period is "Lishen"’s rising period. Jiang Ziwen is also a "Lishen".
