In the international exchanges become more frequent, the specific time of global economic integration the development of cross-cultural communication ability has become the urgent demand of the new era. From the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, develop learners’ intercultural communication competence is one of the aims of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and is the guarantee for the realization of cross cultural communication. At the same time, with the continuous development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Film and television teaching as a modern teaching method, has attracted a lot of attention and attention. Also some scholars to the introduction of the film and television work in teaching Chinese as a foreign language classroom. The characteristics of film and television work to improve the basic skills of learners’ listening, speaking and reading, writing and lack of research on the intercultural communicative competence of learners on development of film and television works. So the author attempts to from a cross-cultural perspective application of film and television works in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, cultivating learners’ intercultural communicative competence are discussed in this paper and the research.On the basis of previous studies, this article through the literature research method and experience method. Mainly discussed how to use the film and television works to cultivate the European and American student cross-cultural communication consciousness. On this basis, then to the "GUA SHA" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" as an example, analyses the differences between Chinese and western culture in film and television works. So let us realize that Chinese and western cultural differences are the important factors that affect intercultural communication. So comparing the differences between Chinese and western culture in the film and television works can effectively help learners through the culture shock stage. On the basis of elevation and understanding on cultural differences. The cultivation of intercultural communication awareness of European and American students are very effective.
