In Chinese Contemporary Literature, Literate Youth Literature plays an important part and reflects the minds of one generation. As a unique literary image in Contemporary Chinese Literature, Literate Youth Literature abounds with literary value. With the development of era and the Literate Youth Literature, literate youth has a series of changes. By means of case study, this essay organize a trace of evolve of literate youth images, investigate characteristics of literate youth images and the same and differences of each image, and detect the value of images.This essay is divided into six parts. In the introduction part, the first section defines the object of study; In the second quarter it shows the present situation of Literate Youth Literature and images,explores the research space of images. The third section presents the reasons of classify. This essay group educated youth into four categories: the heroes, the ill-fated, the loitering and the individual. By means of case study, this essay decodes these four categories in Part One to Part Four in detail. The first part mainly analyzes the heroes of educated youth. The first section in this chapter, focusing on the "Journey" of Guo Xianhong, analyzes the characteristics of the heroes, taking Zhong Weihua as an example, during the period of Great Culture Revolution and causes and significances of this image appearing. In Section Two, this essay makes a comparison of the heroes of educated youth after the Great Culture Revolution, which mainly represented in the Literate Youth Novels of Liang Xiaosheng, with those during the period. These figures keep the quality of heroes, but they are much gentle and full of humanity charm. Part Two mainly analyzes the ill-fated educated youth. The first section, focusing on the Laogui’s "Bloody Twilight", reveals the mental imbalance of educated youth causing by dual misery. In the Section Two, it points out suffering should be rethinking and introspecting instead of getting sympathy. The third part mainly analyzes the loitering educated youth. In Section One,taking Zhang Chengzhi’s "Green Night" and Wang Anyi’s "The End of The Train" as examples, reveals the characteristics of the loitering educated youth. It detects the significances of the loitering educated youth in second section. The loitering educated youth reflect the current living situation of educate youth, whether they are looking for the past or insist on the reality. The fourth part, focusing on "The Golden Age" of Wang Xiaobo, "Qi Wang" of Acheng, mainly analyzes the individual image of educated youth. The first section discusses individual of educated youth, which full of irony. From behavior, image and other aspects, it deconstruct individual image of educated youth. In second section, it studies the individual resistance of these figures with desire as weapons.The conclusion part summarizes evolve of educated youth, the reasons of evolve, and make a positive assessment to the educated youth.
