"ShuiJingzhu" is a Chinese ancient geographical masterpiece, the contents of which are multitude and fictional. Part of it has a great influence on the literary creation of later generations. The material it referred include geographical knowledge of river region and the customs, fantasy legends of people. Many weird stories concerned on the eternal themes such as filial, respect, loyalty and karma. Many passages which content and subject affected by previous generation can be seen as a short fiction. They also provided plenty material and prototype for the fiction later."ShuiJingzhu" provides many valuable historical reference in the history of ancient Chinese history, literature, history of ideas, folklore and many other aspects. But scholars pay more attention to improve the version, collation and commentaries. They do not pay much attention to its literary value and the position on the history of the novel. This article will classify and organize the history and fictions of this book, and analysis them to give a conclusion in literature way.This article includes three chapters. The first chapter will research the historical texts of the Changjiang River mystery novels. The novels and texts this era always make ancient figures mystical, but still display its Characteristics and realities of the time. The second chapter mainly focus on the Yellow River fictions. Generally, there are several types of these stories, they are ghost stories, elves and monster stories, Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of Han stories, etc. The third chapter explores the little stories about the Yishui, which is also very characteristic.For these Historical novel materials, each chapter separately analyzed and described, pointing its main origins, and the features and values and so on. They are not only expanding the literary treasure trove, but also have irreplaceable value and significance in study of Historical Literature.
