As one of the "hot carving" techniques, the unique Chinese glaze art has a long history. Although it was listed in State Nonmaterial Cultural Heritages in 2008, it is anonymous to the modern society.This thesis talks about the history and the technique process of Chinese glaze art. Taking Beijing glaze inheritors, craft artist Xing Lanxiang as an example, to explore the advantages and disadvantages of its material, as well as its technique process. I have given some solutions in order to help this unique cultural heritage handed down through the ages.This paper is composed of six parts, besides the "introduction" and "conclusion", it is divided into four chapters:Chapter 1, the definition of glaze art; the materials it use; and the technique of it.Chapter 2, the world history of glaze art; the Chinese history of glaze art; and the reasons that it reached two climaxes but go downhill in the end.Chapter 3, profile of the Glaze Xing; and the characteristic of her work process and art works.Chapter 4, to the aspect of modeling, using sculpture theory to give new ideas to Xing’s art works; to the aspect of the cultural heritage, finding some methods to solve the obstacles of the development of Beijing glaze art.
