Vocabulary teaching is a vital part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, directly affecting the teaching effect and teaching practice.How an overseas student masters Chinese vocabulary can embody the level of his Chinese learning.If we hope to get good teaching effect, we should pay more attention to vocabulary teaching. In Chinese vocabulary system, proper noun is a special word polymer which play an important role in helping the overseas students express in Chinese, adapt to Chinese culture and master language skills.However, proper nouns teaching doesn’t cause the attention of the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fact is that works and papers related are very shortened,systemic research and arrangement related is shortened, and almost no one mentions the teaching strategy of proper nouns.The teaching material is one of the important backing which embodies the teaching philosophy of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, is the main medium for learners to learn. A good teaching material has important role in promoting teaching quality and subject construction.This article aims at researching proper nouns in the teaching material of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Firstly,the author states the definition, characteristic,and other research related to proper nouns, and tries to form overall theory analysis,establishing strong theory basis for the further research on proper nouns. Secondly,the author analyses deeply the detailed usage and characteristic combining teaching material,and tries to form systemic’research on proper nouns.A Course in Chinese (《汉语教程》) and Development Chinese (《发展汉语》) as the anaclitic objects, and makes the comparative analysis on all aspects in the teaching material.These two teaching materials are comprehensive materials of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, published by Beijing Language University.They are written in high quality and are used widely.So they are certain representative.According to the characteristic of specificity of proper nouns, this article makes comprehensive statistics about the two teaching materials, and lists the proper noun word glossary and classification respectively. This article summarizes the characteristic of proper nouns in the teaching materials, and the different attitude to handling proper nouns in each teaching material then makes a certain amount of contrast conclusion, and on this basis, using the method of comparison, induction, analysis, makes a research on the similarities and differences between interpretation of words, words indexing and words scheduling,thus puts forward to some reference opinions and suggestions according to the result:the word meaning explanation should be comprehensively, interpretation methods should be varied; in the aspect of words indexing, the consideration of word choice should be practical; timing and consider its inherent cultural implication, in the aspect of words arrangement,the vocabulary annotation should be complete, increase the system practice and explanation, attaches great importance to the recurrence rate of vocabulary.At last, present the acquisition strategy and the strategy within the language in the aspect of proper nouns recognition:in the aspect of acquisition strategy,the article puts forward to the identification strategy and the consolidation strategy so that it can help overseas students improve the ability to identify and remember proper nouns;in detailed teaching aspects, the article puts forward to assembling teaching strategy,culture strategy and figure strategy,hoping to give some useful suggestion in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This article establishes the research on proper nouns basis which is empirical in the teaching materials.Each research is analysed,using the detail example in the teaching material, and the author tries to make the research more rational and practical.
