On The Translation Of Sheep Allen And Mr. Wolfy From The Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics

Sheep Allen and Mr. Wolfy is a Chinese animated television series produced by Creative Power Entertaining(CPE) Co., LTD of Guangdong. The series chronicles the adventures and stories of the major characters Sheep Allen and Mr. Wolfy and their respective friends on the fictional Land of GreenGrass. The related books and movies are also very popular among children. Based on the reception aesthetics and the features of children’s literature, this paper chooses the picture book of Sheep Allen and Mr. Wolfy as the research text and puts forward some translation strategies to deal with the difficult points in the process of translating character names, newly-coined words, idioms and so on. At present, translation of children’s literature is still a interdisciplinary subject in the translation circles and translators still have a long way to go. The author hopes that this study will draw people’s attention to the children’s literature of our country and provide some reference to the practice and research of the translation of children’s literature.
