Children's literature is a valuable spiritual food for children. And fairy tales, the special genre of children's literature, has the charm to attract children to read. So, fairy tales, through text conversion, introduce those good stories to young readers, which open a magical "world window" for domestic children. In the light of the theory of receptional aesthetic, this thesis takes young readers in the lower grades as analysis objects and explores the E-C translation strategies of fairy tales in the Stuart Little.in terms of linguistic features, sentence structure and intercultural transformation.Translators should not only take linguistic features and culture backgrounds between Chinese and English into consideration, but also the thought and educational level of young readers. The languages uesd in fairy tales should be clear, vivid and musical to intrigue young readers in the lower grades to read; The length of sentences in fairy tales should be short and words order shoud be in line with the logic forms of Chinese sentences to help young readers understand the content easily and have them take breath to read the words; the words or sentenses involved with culture factors in source text can be literally translated with an annotation or can be paraphrased, as long as the translation are easy for young readers in lower grades to comprehend. All in all, the target readers of fairy tales are those in lower grades,so the translators should pay close attention to the traits in young readers in lower grades and take those factors above into consideration so as to translate more fairy tales which are perfect for young readers and welcome by young readers.
