Interpretation and transcoding are two of the most common concepts in interpreting. In the concept of interpretation, it is sense rather than language that needs to be delivered, and we should take interpreting as a kind of socializing. The interpretative theory is quite different from the original comprehension-expression model by coming up with an important step, deverbalization. Since its establishment, it has been more and more popular, while transcoding is disputable. Transcoding is thought to be a mechanical and bad method. However, its mechanism gives interpreters more time and reduces their energy consuming, and hence relieves their strain. Besides, within limited time and tremendous pressure, it is inevitable to be affected by source language. In this thesis, the author makes a brief introduction to interpretation, transcoding and the way author interprets the two speeches. Transcoding exists in words, phrases and in a few unique sentences. Examples will be given from three levels respectively. According to different interpretive strategies, interpretation is further divided into explanatory interpretation, contextual interpretation, logical relationship manifestation and syntactic processing. Author tries to prove the complementarity of interpretation and transcoding through a large number of examples.Interpretation combined with transcoding is a relatively resonable interpreting model. Their proportion should be determined by characteristics of each speech. When deciding which one to use, one should make an analysis of the situation, make the best of their complementarity and take faithfulness as a bottom line to deliver the most of the source language.
