This study is undertaken to investigate the influence in individual self-monitoring both behavior and implicit so as to account for the existence of a variety of self-monitors. The study was done through cluster sampling 420 university students based on questionaires Self-monitoring Form and Parenting-Style Form, which revealed the correlation between self-monitoring and parenting-style as well as the analysis of potential impact exterted/exerted by different parenting-style on the existence of self-monitoring in objective level. Study II measured self-monitoring form and Implicit Association Test, which showed the difference made on implicit effect of self harmony and reasons accounting for the difference. Study III measured the difference between self-monitoring form and the implicit effect of interpersonal harmony in the subject level as well as reasons caused the difference. The conclusions are as follows:Self-monitoring is significantly related to the parenting-style, in which other-oriented monitor is directly proportional to authoritarian parenting, spoiling parenting and the dominant neglectful parenting, while other-oriented monitor is inversely proportional to democratic parenting. Self-monitoring is directly proportional to spoiling parenting, neglectful parenting, and the dominant authoritarian parenting. High self-monitoring is directly proportional to democratic parenting, whereas high self-monitoring is inversely proportional to authoritarian parenting, spoiling parenting and the neglectful parenting.Different self-monitors vary in the implicit effect of self harmony. High self-monitors have high level of implicit effect of self harmony, in which high self-monitors has higher level of harmony when they communicate in the implicit level. Self-oriented monitors are consistent in self-monitoring and other-oriented level. Self-monitors and the other-oriented care about the views of others on their own, not to reveal true self in communication for their non-significant IAT effect. There is significant difference in different self-monitors on the implicit effect of interpersonal harmony. The self-oriented and high self-monitors shared in the implicit level with the same TAT effect which proved that the self-oriented and high self-monitors have fine social communication-patterns. Other-oriented monitors are the least significant in implicit effect of interpersonal harmony, which proved they lack of long-term stable relationship-patterns.
