The paper takes the interpreting of the lecture of Engaging China which was raised by University of the Oregon’s Charles H.Lundquist College of Business, the Confucius Institute and the Center for Asian and Pacific Studies as a case for analysis. And the general content of the lecture involves important issues in history and evolution. In order to achieve the basic aim which is to offer a new perspective on dissemination of the Chinese culture, the author employs Skopos theory and its three principles Skopos, Coherence and Fidelity which were put forwarded in the 1970 s as the theoretical and fundamental framework.The paper takes the English lecture Engaging China as a case to complete the E-C interpretation which was held by the Oregon’s Charles H.Lundquist College of Business. And from the perspective of Skopos, it includes preparation, process of interpretation and reflections. First, the author display the backgrounds, explain the difficulties occurred in the interpretation such as obtaining few script and so on. Second the author expound the Skopos theory in detail and take it as a guidance to the interpretation practice. Third the author analyze difficulties and mistakes caused by delay and take the Skopos theory as a guide to raise some solutions which can be divided into two: words and sentences adjustment. Besides the author reflect mistakes and improve the incapability. Not least but last, author will take lessons and experience from this task and expect a good future in need of society and career.
