The English Translating Strategies Of Consecutive Interpretation

With the economic development and global progress, there have been an increasing number of exchanges among different countries. Interpretation plays a vital role in communication and China needs more and more excellent interpreters. Only with abundant translation theories and improved academic research can we pave way for better interpretation. As interpretation is a thing with some flexibility, interpreters may come across lots of difficulties. This thesis applies Skopos Theory to the analysis of the consecutive interpretation of Chinese premiere’s press conference. It aims to find out how to practice translation strategies based on the basic three principles of Skopos Theory. It is hoped that this research will contribute to the consecutive interpretation theory and practice.
