A Report On The Interpretation Of FORUM

Broadcast in Guizhou TV and hosted by Mr.Long Yongtu, FORUM program is a dialogue program talks about hot issues and news figures. This report was based on the interpreting of FORUM program broadcast on April 21,2014 and mainly talked about the difficulties brought by the incomplete source language and much use of para language. Under the guidance of cognitive load theory and with the help of translation methods like syntactic linearity, omission etc., the interpreter did the consecutive interpreting. The main difficulties the interpreter met is the appearance of incomplete sentences and the much use of para language. After analyzed the difficulties, the interpreter hoped to enhance the ability in interpreting different kinds of topics and improving interpreting skills.This report has following parts: introduction on the report and interpreting practice; description on interpreting preparation and the execution; case analysis and translation tactics. The last part is conclusion.Translation is a combat between two languages. Many problems met in interpreting need the interpreter to know the sentence structure and contextual meaning of source language clearly. The interpreter hoped the analysis and conclusion can be helpful for future study.
