Moral Will And The Will To Power -A Comparative Study Of Lu Jiu-yuan And Nietzsche Voluntarism

Lu Jiu-yuan’s Moral Will based on traditional Chinese Confucian moral reason; oppose the ideas that search for reason by outward among Neo-Confucianism system. And he select face The Own Mind, to maintain the morality together with existence of life, and not to be fooled or lost The Own Mind, to practice the Confucian moral ideal. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche’s The Will to Power oppose extrinsic value standard by Western rationalism and Christian set, and with life as the foundation, praise generative life, abandon the tragic life of mortal. And then achieve the purpose of The Will to Power that with the value of life as a criterion to replacing the traditional values. Voluntarism of Lu and Nietzsche also come from life, Nietzsche went one road on the vitality of "The Will to Power", and Lu then went on a virtue of "Moral Will" road.This paper will use the comparative method, and from four aspects on Lu and Nietzsche’s voluntarism to compare and integrate. The first chapter will organize Lu and Nietzsche on the Voluntarism of each source. The second chapter will point out that The Own Mind and The Life is the ontology for Lu and Nietzsche’s idea of voluntarism and compare. The third chapter is the main content of the article discusses the basic contents of voluntarism of Lu and Nietzsche’s, and do in-depth comparison and integration. The fourth chapter will explain both contemporary ideological value of their voluntarism. By outlining Lu’s The Moral Will and Nietzsche’s The Will to Power, also makes Voluntarism had another perspective and meaning:life’s generative, scalability and The Own Mind in order to maintain the generation of life ensures the continued existence and development of life morality is the primary basis of human existence and life. So Voluntarism is a philosophy that back to life wills itself, with life perspective of looking at people and their world animate with earthly eyes to the meaning of life.
