Park chan-wook is an outstanding director in south Korean who has alternative art pursuit in film and popular with the audience, he created a unique style of directing films, he was greatly influenced by philosophy and literature, and is a rare genius who has both ration and perceptual which made him not only good at making wonderful films but also did good critics work, he has a special artistic vision and values which can combine Oriental culture with western culture to make films. He combined the implicit national personality of Asian with unabashed individuality, and use the essence of Confucianism in combination with democratic ideals of western culture to promote the commercial value and profound thoughts of the south Korean films, making an important contribution to the south Korean films. He brought the south Korean films to the audiences from outside world, and won the honor for south Korean films in the globe, and also made contribution to south Korean films for having created a new type of films. Since Chinese film industry is facing with many serious problems, such as the lack of creativity in commercial films and the lack of audience in art films and the chaos values in films, the study of Park chan-wook’s film provided valuable references for us.Park chan-wook absorbed the essence of the world classic literature in his works, and critically inherited art methods from outstanding directors in the world, and then created an unique creative style of making films. This article mainly talk about the theme, the narrative features, the expression of violence aesthetics of Park chan-wook’s films, the characteristics of his film language, and the south Korean national tradition in his films. By analyzing his films in these five dimensions, we can clearly find the whole art style of Park chan-wook’s creation. I argue that Park chan-wook’s films use the complexing spatio-temporal crisscross narrative skills to tell storys and he did good works. "Hidden core things and delay details" is his unique suspense narrative skills, the expression of his violence aesthetics is very real and wild, the vision of his films is colorful and concise, he likes to make tension in the films with stillness image, and all of the films he made expressed the national tradition of Korean, and focused on the view of human nature, he used variety of skills to express the different sides of human nature, and expressed deep Ideological content of his view, he expressed the thought of humanity and the wildness of violence in all his works. The study of Park chan-wook’s film form and art skills helped us find his mechanism of film creation and his innovation in film art, which brought great inspiration for the creation of Chinese films.
