Liang Yuchun is a writer to be neglected easily in the history ofmodern Chinese probe, which is mainly because of his short life. It is dueto his short life that his creation is restricted and leads to his low yield.Yet being neglected doesn’t mean being forgotten. Under the influence ofwestern essay and combining his own knowledge, he wrote a series ofessays which are not abundant in quantity but rich in content and deservereaders’ endless aftertastes. After carefully reading Liang Yuchun’s worksand referring to some relevant research about him, the author intends todiscuss his essays from three aspects——Liang Yuchun himself as awriter, the artistic characteristics of his works and his translationactivity’s influence on him by employing the methodology ofComparative Study. Firstly, the author makes a detailed introduction toLiang Yuchun and his unique features based on his mentor and friends’memory of him, attempting to explore the deep reasons why he is soimpressive. Secondly, the author analyzes the artistic characteristics of hisessays at length from the aspects of theme, emotion, reflection onindividual’s value of life and style, etc. Besides, the author makes a comparison between him and other writers in order to illuminate LiangYuchun’s uniqueness. Finally, the author expounds briefly the influenceof Liang Yuchun’s translation activity on his creation, exploring how histranslation has influenced his essays.
