E-C Translation Of Political Economics Text Under The Guidance Of Communicative Translation

As a way to get to know the outside world, translation of political economics texts has become one of the main types in applied translation. However, not much attention has been paid to English-Chinese translation and study of political economics texts.Based on the English-Chinese translation of Introduction, Chapter1and Chapter2in a book entitled The End of the Free Market---Who Wins the War Between States and Corporations?, the thesis first analyses the linguistic features of political economics texts according to text typology theory. Then it uses Peter Newmark’s communicative translation to guide the English-Chinese translation of vocabulary and sentences in political economics texts whose main purpose is to convey information.The paper concludes that communicative translation can be used effectively to transfer information accurately and authentically to target readers. Finally, it summarizes both gains and deficiencies in the translation practice.
