Economics is a social science that studies the production and distribution of products,consumption and services.It relates to all aspects of people's production and life.According to World Economic Situation And Prospects 2018:Summary,issued by the United Nations,the global economic development has been affected by the economic crisis and negative shocks from time to time in the past decade,and the recovery pace of global economic has not been balanced.Energy is likewise a major concern of all countries.The book,Practical Economics,written by the former Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri,is divided into eleven chapters,introducing the political,energy,economic and environmental reforms in Georgia over the past decade,highlighting that how Georgia has managed to get itself back on track from recession and negative effects over the past decade with the right fiscal and monetary policies and the right energy reforms.The author aims to provide developing countries,which have similar fiscal and energy policy dilemmas with information on reforms of reference value.The thesis is a report on translation from English to Chinese(The source text is selected from the former Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri's Practical Economics).The present report consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the background,the purpose and the significance of the translation project,and content of the source text is also described.in this chapter.Chapter 2 is a description of the translation process,including preparations before translation,in-translation and post-translation processing.Chapter 3 is the most important part,introduces the theoretical foundation,and the application of guiding theory to problem solving and translation techniques selection.Based on Newmark's communicative translation theory,the translator mainly adopts translation techniques such as conversion,amplification,omission and division,and analyzes the key points and translation techniques in the light of some specific cases.Chapter 4 summarizes the author's inspiration,lessons and problems that remain to be solved for further improvement.The translator has learned more about Georgian fiscal and energy reform over the past decade,and has accumulated more experience through this practice.In addition,the translator hopes that the translated text could facilitate the understanding of reform policies of those who are in the industry and are interested in investing in Georgia,and could provide a reference for readers who study related fiscal and energy policy issues.
