Contemporary Chinese Moral Identity Crisis And Its Solution

The economy，culture，education and other fields of China have been greatlyimproved since the Reform and Opening UP，and the social transformation has beenalso speed up where the structure of society was changing constantly. That caused acontinuous deconstruction and reconstruction of traditional values and culture，resulting in a situation in which individuals， culture differences and diversifieddevelopment of values are highlighted. After losing its social and cultural foundation，traditional moral value system collapsed without a new one. So the developmentimbalance of human，society and morality leaded to a moral identify crisis.Moral indentify crisis is that some individuals do not accept the moralrequirements of the society they lives in any more，and reflected as their emotions orbehaviors are in no corresponding with the social moral values. Its essence lies in theinconsistency of main value requirements and social value requirements， the rupture inthe moral connection of main and social morality，the self-losing and confusion in theprocess where they position own moral requirements，establish their own moral values，confirm own moral identification or look for moral consistency and the misplacement oftheir personal moral schema and the social schema. Individually，there comes thecollapse of personal moral framework， loss of the moral belonging sense and directionsense，disappear of value and personality and moral split personality. In social level，thedifficulties of approaching social common moral sense，conducting social moralrequirements and the reduction of ethical criterion function are recognized as itsperformance. It is necessary to find a way out，because moral identify crisis reflects thedisorder of the whole social moral criterion.To eliminate moral identify crisis，efforts in moral system， moral education，social core values and moral agreement should be made. Not only morality rationality isought to be demonstrated to construct the whole morality system， the moral educationshould also be enhanced to set the unreasonable phenomenon in morality educationright. Most importantly， it is significant to construct the System of the Socialism CoreValues and extract the good elements of Socialism morality. Besides，it is a duty ofsignificance to nurse personal morality，for moral identify crisis is more than theperson’s disappointment on the morality and social moral environment. Therefore，personal moral emotion and acceptance must be considered when social moralenvironment is being bettered. Everybody is allowed to discuss the social morality，deliberate and debate and a common moral agreement should be reached finally.
