Although Stone Portrait is considered as the art of tomb, it is implicitly expressed that Hanpeople are strongly sentimentally attached to this life, and afterlife by understanding reality ofsociety, wide range of stone portrait’s subject matters, fishing&hunting, iconic mythology andhistorical events. Stone portrait depicts a large number of females ranging from iconography tobibliography, etc. Those portraits are recognized to indirectly reflecting that the realistic females’status and lives in Han Dynasty. during Han Dynasty, Confucianism is still in the initial stages offormation. Females therefore are treated pretty fair. Even though males and females aren’t treatedthe same, females still do have certain rights such as freedom of speech in a way. The point isthat the relationship between men and women is rather meant for understanding and helping eachother than male superiority.The Han Stone Portrait of female are studied by this paper, and mainly focuses on thehistory of the women who are chaste and righteous.the status of women is researched byanalyzing of image science and combining with the Han’s political, economic, social andeducation situation. the female’s steadfast loyalty and kindness are praised, and meanwhile,people’s life and customs and beliefs are reproduced at that time.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part introduces the production of Han Dynasty stone, research review, and relatedfields, the existing research is summarized, and many descriptions of female images arediscovered.The second part analyzes the women of Han society,the situation of royal concubines’interventions about political affairs come out, and so as the females’ history andeducation,marriage and job about females are studied, and the social status about females alsoanalyzed.The third part is the focus of this paper, the women who are chaste and righteous in thehistory of Han Stone Portrait are introduced, by analyzing the images, the status of females isexplained, and we can find that women are inferior to men is not always true, these themesextend slightly into the impact on future generations. The fourth part is compared to the Han Stone Portrait of male-dominated subjects, foundthese images are more able to clearly explain women’s status at that time.The fifth part is the conclusion, by interpreting the image of women in the initial formationof the Han Dynasty Confucian society of women requires more relaxed, not just a "patriarchal",reflects a more men and women help each other, complement each other, understanding state.
