Mental fatigue in cognitive domain means that energy cannot remain the former level,it is an universal phenomenon in daily life,while it is difficult to measure,the mental fatigue not only effect the efficiency of operations,but also influence our health,most of people do not stop to have an enough rest after fitige,they must improve their cognitive monitor and stress level to insure better performance,control the error occurrence. Whether the cognitive monitor under mental fatigue should be decreased and how is the changing way of the peripheral nervous characteristic will be discussed.The research take undergraduates as the subjects within the group and Flankers task paradigm as cognitive task,HRV as the method.The study was divided into two stages(4+1pattern) including fatigue induced stage after4blocks in total60min and award stage after1block about20min,the whole study are5blocks.The independent variable is mental fatigue level in different block, the dependent variable including subjective feeling^behavioral data and HRV index.We record the fatigue、 mood、aversion level; reaction time、error rate; SDNN、RMSSD、LF、HF、LF/HF. We investigated effect on cognitive monitor and the characteristic of peripheral nervous.The resurt:(1) Compared with the study start, participant did not do the task,after fatigue induced,their fatigue、negative emotion、aversion level are increased and significant; reaction time is increased and non-significant,error rate is increased and significant, it account for the mental fatigue reduced motivation, positive emotion、increased negative emotion,declined cognitive monitoring、impaired performance。(2)Compared with fatigue,after being given reward,their fatigue、negative emotion、aversion level are decreased and significant; reaction time and error rate are decreased and significant, it account for that reward can inspire the inner drive,and improve cognitive monitoring level and ease the fatigue influence.(3)In the whole study, reaction time on Compatible entry always less than incompatible one and non-significant, while error rate on compatible entry always less than incompatible one and significant, it account for that complexity need more cognitive resources.(4)Within the stage of mental fatigue induced,HRV indexes SDNN、RMSSD、 LF、HF are increased,while LF is dominant,that is why LF/HF is higher than before stage;In another stage,SDNN、RMSSD remain going up,LF is declined、HF is rising,so that LF/HF also declined; it account for that long time stress will make people feel fatigue easily, autonomic nervous activion become more stronger and with more sympathetic-and less parasympathetic-related modulation will be less capable of inhibiting responses because of mental fatigue. After given reward, parasympathetic-related modulation is hypoactive and as a result performance increase.Conclusion:Mental fatigue make sympathetic-and parasympathetic become imbalance, parasympathetic as the index of peripheral nervous show the lower inhibiting ability,it make the individual difficult to maintain well emotion and performance,however,reward can improve effects of fatigue,meanwhile,it can improve parasympathetic activation,and then,get a better performance.
