This report is mainly about the C-E translation of a series of legal documents about employment transfer in a foreign company. Chapter1is a basic introduction to the background information, translation procedure, translation brief and layout of the report. Chapter2is about translation preparations, which provides a brief analysis of the source text, related texts reading as well as an introduction to the related translation theory. Chapter3mainly introduces the two problems and their solutions in the translating process. Chapter4is the conclusion. The report, based on the text typology analysis of the source text, first discusses the problems which are met with in the process of translation, namely, how to realize standardization and preciseness and how to realize conciseness and clarity, and then proposes some translation methods under the guidance of skopos theory. The suggested translation methods read as follows:conversion of parts of speech, use of archaic words, use of legal terms, voice transformation, rearrangement of word order, omission and integration. The report reveals that a translator will be able to produce a good target text of legal documents, if he or she possesses a firm grasp of text type, language features of legal documents and a good command of translation methods under the guidance of skopos theory.
