| Translation is the practice of expressing the meaning of certain material from one language into another language composition. Since its emergence translation between different countries and different ethnic groups have greatly facilitated political, cultural exchange and integration of customs. Thus, it is understool as the world’s most powerful tool to understand other nations. The Analects of Confucius is the collection of sayings and ideas attributed to the Chinese philosopher Confucius and his disciples. The Analects of Confucius has not only significantly influenced Chinese thoughts and culture, but also has had profound impact on world civilization. Since the late16th century, The Analects of Confucius was translated into many western languages such as Latin and English. Regarding to Tibetan translation, The Analects of Confucius was made avaliable by Golok Namgyal.This paper talks about the Tibetan translation of The Analects of Confucious mainly in three chapters. First chapter focuses on several key concepts of The Analects of Confucius. Second chapter presents some translation methods that were used in the Tibetan translation, such as tranliteration, informative translation and literary translation. Third chapter discusses the value of the Tibetan translation. |
