Herta Mueller was a survivor from Ceausescu’s reign,with her unique literary creation, she revived history in terms of what a price German Romanians paid in the later part of World War Ⅱ. In this specific and special time, as redeemers of war, no matter how hard they tried, they could hardly get rid of the serious wounds history brought to them.When reading trough Mueller’s works, we find that we find that she didn’t narrate history with too much depictions of grand hspectacles,but revealed the dark history with obscure characters’bitter experiences in her books. The thesis will analyze these little peoples’struggling life experiences from the persectives of fear, vagrancy,loneliness and other relevant subjects.Fear, vagrancy, loneliness, and the alike are all emotional experiences of human beings, with them we live hard, but they inspire us to seek for the essence of life, in spite of the harsh fact that we will never figure out what life is. Nevertheless, in relatively peaceful times, we could turn numb,lose ourselves in the secular world, and while away our lives without achievements. Herta Mueller, however, with her marginal writing, warns us of the fact fear, vagrancy and loneliness never leaves far from us.Six part constitute the thesis, the first part will give a overall introduction on the research status quo about Herta Mueller, the reason of selecting the topic, significance, and innovation points. The second part will talk about surviving experience,the subject of vagrancy and presentation of these subjects in Herta Mueller’s works, the third part mainly focuses on the trauma Mueller suffered from totalitarianism and subjects of terror. The fourth part mainly discusses the totalitarian and fear themes and their effects on miller works, the fifth part summarizes the realistic significance of Herta Mueller’s novels. The last part is to depict the author’s exploration course towards Herta Mueller in the past three years.
