“Yue yan(《越谚》)” is a literature written by a late Qing Dynasty scholar who isnamed Fan yin, which reflects local language at that time. This subject bases on “Yueyan dian zhu(《〈越谚〉点注》)”,which is noted by Hou youlan in2006. It put idioms、inoculations、proverbs and a two-part allegorical saying as a research object. From theplane of synchronic and diachronic, it discusses “compare local idioms and mandarinidioms,“derived method、condition and mechanism of local idioms” and “local idiomsand dictionary compilation”. Then it sums up the characteristics of idiomization.This subject is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the introduction. This chapter is divided into four sections tointroduce the geography、history and population of Yue, local language (Dongtoudaidialect), the content、version and author of “Yue yan”, and an overview of idioms andthe research on “Yue yan”; clear research content, research methods, significance, andother particular problems.From the plane of synchronic study, the second chapter to compare local idiomsand mandarin idioms which includes three aspects, that is, local idioms which same tomandarin idioms, which different from mandarin idioms and which with characteristicsof Wu yu(吴语).From the plane of diachronic study, the third chapter to discuss idioms、inoculations、proverbs and a two-part allegorical saying from “Yue yan”, puts forwardfive kinds of derived ways from local idioms, which is curing, simplify, simplify,generalization and transformation; four kinds of derived condition and mechanism fromlocal idioms, which is use frequency, rhythm, group block and integration. Finally,explain the similarities and differences between idiomization and lexicalization.From the point of dictionary compilation, the fourth chapter to propose the viewabout some existing problems of dictionary which include two aspects, that is, localidioms which have not been received and documentary evidence later.At last, this paper summarizes the deficiencies.
